RE: Youth Weekend

We have had our challenges in the transition to our new building. But, God is still doing His thing!! Lives are being changed every time we come together on a Sunday and to our mid-week congregations.

Things may seem scattered in our Youth Ministry. Things may seem chaotic in your school or home. Maybe you’ve had some bad relationships along the way….

IT’S TIME TO reGroup, reDefine, reFresh and reWind.

We are having a reVival at the end of the month that you don’t want to miss. Please make it a priority in your life. Our Youth Group needs this.

We have some really great things planned. We are using some new ideas and old to create a great RE Weekend.

Love you guys. Contact me if you need more info.

As of today, August 14, we are 27 days away from our SFC Offering date (Sept 9th).  Many of you have committed already to giving to SFC this year.  Some of you have already turned in your offering.  For both, I say a big THANK YOU!!!

If you have not had a chance to visit the SFC table, please come by and see us this Sunday.  You can participate in a great cause.  We will be in the foyer right outside of the Auditorium.

I have put together a little promotional video. Check it out on YouTube: http://youtu.be/s71k98xQ3ns

Please let me know if you have any questions.  Or if you have any ideas of how you would like to give.  Maybe you have a cool fundraising idea that we haven’t thought of yet; let us know.

God bless.

ImageHey Everyone!!! I am going to be doing a 30 mile bike ride for Sheaves for Christ this year on August 18th. I am doing this because I believe in the great GO-mission!! We are called to GO and reach the world. We are not all able to go overseas or called to become Missionaries or to start a church somewhere in North America. But we are all called to GO and do something to help these great callings. I feel that SFC is a HUGE difference maker in our world and because of that I am trying to raise funds for a GREAT cause. If you are willing and able to support this great cause, please message me at richardbglass@gmail.com. No amount is too small. If you are not able to support this cause financially, then please send your prayers out to the many different ministries that SFC supports. You can visit the SFC website to see the many different ministries that benefit from this great fundraiser.www.sheavesforchrist.com

Select this link for the permission slip: Permission Slip for Intern Kick-Off Rally.  ALL PARTICIPANTS UNDER THE AGE OF 18 WILL NEED TO HAVE THIS FORM FILLED OUT AND SIGNED BY PARENT OR GUARDIAN.

Let me know if you have any questions.

It was great to see all of you who were able to make at the Parent Connect last Friday evening.

I am working on 3 different reviews to post here in the next few days.  The reviews will be of the following: Pastor Libby’s session, Pastor Sean’s session and mine.  They will come in 3 different posts.  I didn’t want to put them all in one post and it just be dragged on and on.  Those kind of post can be hard to read all the way through.  🙂

I will send out the links when they are completed.

God bless you.  You are an amazing parent.

This posting is pretty much identical to the letter that went out a couple of weeks ago to all of our SWAT Parents and Guardians. If you did not receive the letter, please let me know. We may have a wrong address for you in our system.

Christian Life Center is on the move! It is so exciting to see all the wonderful things that God is doing. With moving, comes transition. The transition from CLC on Darnestown Road to Damascus High School and our mid-week congregations has been very adventurous, challenging, but yet amazing!!!

One of our challenges in this new transition has been Youth Events. We were very blessed at CLC on Darnestown to have Youth Service on a weekly basis and to have the facilities we needed to have our fellowships and events. Now we don’t have that. But, we are still trying to provide ways to keep our young people connected to one another, to the church and to Jesus, living a holy lifestyle.

It is our desire to connect with you as a Parent or Guardian of our Christian Life Center young people. It can be a challenge sometimes raising teenagers in our anti-Christian society. We want to be a blessing and support to you and your teenager anyway we can in this ongoing journey of living the lifestyle of a Christian.

We are putting together an event that will bring us together to connect and grow. This event will be a joint event for Parents and/or Guardians and our young people. We will have a time of fellowship with food and then we will split the group into two groups. The young people will go into the gym and have some fun interactive activities. While they are in the gym there will be a time with you and us. We will talk and interact with one another as we discuss how to keep our teenagers connected and growing.

We want to hear your thoughts and also share with you a few different things God has laid on our hearts. It is important for us to come together like this, so we can be on the same page as we work together building a generation of Christian teenagers, helping them to grow into mature adult Christians.

We will be having this event at Damascus Community Recreation Center, 25520 Oak Drive, Damascus, MD 20872. The date will be June 1, 2012 and time will be 7:30pm – 10:00pm.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us. Please make this event a priority. You and your children are very important to us and we love you. Let’s parent together! We feel that this event is a pivotal moment in our Youth Group and as a church family.

Please contact me if you have any questions and to RSVP. Please RSVP by May 25th or sooner. You can do that by email, text or by calling me. Contact info: Cell – 240.315.5109, Email – rglass@clceast.org

I am very excited about this event. It is going be a great evening together.

God bless you all and thank you for all you do for SWAT Youth Ministries.

I have been asked on multiple occasions, “What is Sheaves For Christ?” or “What is a Sheave?”  These are not terminology that you hear in 2012.  No one says, “Hey, hand me a sheave.” or “How are your sheaves today?”  It just not heard of.

So, why Sheaves?  The word sheave means to gather, collect, or bind into a sheaf or sheave.

In 2012 lingo, we would say, “Go collect as much as you can for Christ!”

The term may be old, but the method is still as great and relevant as it needs to be.  Sheaves For Christ (or SFC) has been one of the greatest tools / resources for our Missionaries and many other ministries.  If you follow this link, you will see the many different ministries that benefit from SFC: http://sheavesforchrist.com/sfc-is/.  The cool thing about SFC is; you can reach out to people that you would probably never get a chance to reach out to.  Your support and efforts go towards a great cause.  YOU can make a difference in the lives of hundreds or even thousands of people.

The SFC theme for this year it GO!  Here is a video:

I believe that CLC can have a great year for SFC.  God will bless what we do because SFC is giving to help His Kingdom grow!  Let’s be a part of the GO-mission!!!!
